Police Check Clearance
Criminal Records are issued by the Egyptian Government for Egyptian Citizens and foreigners who have lived in Egypt.
To apply for an Egyptian Police Check Clearance directly from the Consulate in person, by booking an appointment with the following:
- Original Passport
- 1 recent Passport Photos (Same standards as the Australian Passport)
- Fees: $75 (Cash)
To apply for an Egyptian Police Check Clearance via Post (NSW, QLD, NT ONLY), please mail us the following to receive the Police Check Clearance application: (It is recommended you use a registered mail)
- Original Passport
- 1 recent Passport Photos (Same standards as the Australian Passport)
- Fees: $75 (Money Order or Bank Cheque ONLY) Payable to “Consulate General of Egypt”
- Self-Addressed Pre-paid envelope for return of Passport and Police Check Clearance Application
Once you receive the Police Check Clearance Form:
- Fill out the Police Clearance Form with your details using the ID you provided. Please note when filling out the form to use the address you were staying in while you were in Egypt, if you require any assistance filling the form please get in contact with us.
- Take the Form to your closest Police Station. The Police Officer will take your fingerprints on the designated part on the back of the form. The Police Officer will have to sign and stamp the form next to your photo once finished. The officer will write down their name in the “Print Taken by” area.
- Post the completed Police Clearance Form back to the Consulate of Egypt and include a Self-Addressed Pre-paid envelope for the return of the results of the Police Check Clearance.
The processing time for the Consulate to obtain the Police Check Clearance Results is at-least three months. However, there might be delays due to COVID-19.
Please note if you wish to send the Police Clearance Form yourself to Egypt for processing, please inform us and include a Self-Addressed Pre-paid envelope for the return of the certified Police Clearance Form.
The Consulate General of Egypt – Sydney Branch can only accept fingerprints taken by Police Stations or Public Notary from New South Wales, Queensland and Northern Territory.
